How to extend a video with new AI frames

A clip can end before a movement settles or before your edit has room for a closing message. Generative extension continues the scene with newly created frames. The source is the starting point; a prompt describes the next moment.

Start with the right clip

Start with your own completed, approved six-second Kie generation. The studio accepts this saved task as the source for one continuation; new local MP4 uploads are not supported.

Choose the smallest useful extension

Each continuation adds six seconds at 480p, making a twelve-second result. You can extend an original six-second generation once.

Describe what continues

A continuation prompt works best when it names one action, keeps the subject recognizable and explains whether the camera should move.

The camera remains steady as the cyclist continues moving away along the road. Keep the same daylight, clothing and background.

For a product shot, try a slight camera movement instead of asking the model to invent labels or detailed product text. Add exact typography in your editor after generation.

Check the seam and the new frames

1. Watch the last second of your original clip and the start of the continuation.
2. Check whether motion, lighting and camera direction remain consistent.
3. Look for facial changes, bent product geometry or invented text.
4. Listen to the audio. Do not assume an extension preserves or creates the soundtrack you need.
5. Download a result you like and finish the edit in your usual editor.

What this studio currently supports

When generation is enabled, Kie creates six-second 480p clips and adds one six-second continuation to an approved original task. Output must pass SeeAPI review before download. Availability appears in the studio.

One generation or continuation reserves one video action. A confirmed failure releases the reservation; uncertain requests remain under review and are recovered without a second submission. Historical credits remain separate and are not converted into video actions.
